The Johnny that left for the academy was not the same Johnny that I met during registration.

I wanted to commend you on the work you completed with Johnny [last name removed].  I have had Johnny in my classes since the 8th grade.  He has always been a good kid, but has also always had some challenges in his life.  Last spring, he attended the academy there in Pierce.  This summer I ran into him during registration at the High School.  The Johnny that left for the academy was not the same Johnny that I met during registration.

Johnny exudes a pleasant confidence topped with respectful politeness. His energy is positive and strong.  Johnny is articulate and speaks intelligently, while still being able to laugh and joke around.  None of these characteristics would have been used to describe [him] before he attended the program there in Pierce.  His posture, his assertiveness, his smile are the first things you recognize.  Everything else that makes a successful and respectful young man falls into place in the first moment of interacting with him.

The boy you took into your program has been returned to our community as a strong, confident, respectful and intelligent young man.  Thank you for the work you do up there in Pierce.  Being in education myself, it is always nice to hear of the success stories related to the work we all do.  This is one of those stories that you and your crew need to hear.

Thank you for all of your hard work there.
